first_imgLast week we reported on a very amusing way to “distract” the characters in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim so as to make it possible to steal items without being caught. All you had to do was find some wooden buckets and place them over the heads of NPCs. In so doing, their vision is blocked and you can steal to your heart’s content. This week another exploit has been found, but this one is a lot more serious and we expect Bethesda to patch it quickly.A YouTube user going by the name of MalavarTCOne has posted a video demonstrating how to access an infinite supply of gold just by collecting a book. The text in question is The Doors of Oblivion and held by a skeleton located near Sightless Pit on the way to Azura’s Shrine from Winterhold. The glitch is the fact that even if you kill the skeleton, he keeps offering up the book to the player. As it is worth 50 gold, this allows you to keep collecting it and selling it at a local store of your choice for as much gold as you care to collect. The only thing that seems to slow down this easy gold collection is the limit on how much gold store owners have to give you in exchange for the books. Malavar suggests cleaning out a store of its gold reserves and then waiting 48 hours before returning at which point the store has lots of gold again.I don’t think it will take long for Bethesda to issue a patch for this. The fact it is happening in one location may mean it happens elsewhere too, so I bet a check is being done to stop this happening again anywhere in the Skyrim world.via Kotakulast_img read more
