The guest speaker will be Tiffani Thiessen, who starred in the TV show “Beverly Hills 90210.” She has since launched Tit 4 Tat Productions, an independent film company.Conference keynote speaker Lydia Ruyle will discuss the goddess icons in many cultures worldwide as spirit banners of the divine feminine.Other special guests will include Dr. Scott Coltrane, author of “Family Man: Fatherhood, Housework, and Gender Equity,” and Dr. Mary Lynn-Brecht, researcher with the National Institute on Drug Abuse.Cost is $25 to community members, $15 to faculty or staff members and free to Cerritos College students. For more information, call (562) 860-2451.Cal Grant forms due by ThursdayRANCHO CORDOVA – The California Student Aid Commission urges college-bound seniors to apply for a Cal Grant before the deadline Thursday to earn up to $8,300 for college expenses.The Cal Grant program targets graduating high school seniors, students who graduated from high school last year and did not get a Cal Grant, and community college students who are transferring to a four-year college.Continuing college students who are currently Cal Grant recipients should also apply to renew their grant.Applying for a Cal Grant takes two free forms: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the Cal Grant Grade Point Average Verification Form. There is no fee for filing these forms.The FAFSA can be submitted online or mailed by the Thursday Cal Grant application deadline. However, students are encouraged to complete the form online to save time, prevent mistakes and streamline the application process.Help with filling out forms is available through free California Cash for College workshops.For more information, students and parents can visit, or call the Cal Grant information line at (888) 224-7268.Students can also visit their high school counseling or college financial aid offices for help and the appropriate forms.
