first_imgMalcolm Brogdon brings the ball up the floor during ACC Tournament.GREENSBORO, NC – MARCH 16: Malcolm Brogdon #15 of the Virginia Cavaliers bring the ball up court against Tyler Thornton #3 of the Duke Blue Devils during the championship game of the 2014 Men’s ACC Basketball Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum on March 16, 2014 in Greensboro, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)The Madness is almost here! After Saturday’s regular season finale, the bracket for the ACC Tournament has officially been set. The event kicks off at noon on Tuesday, March 8, with 12-seed N.C. State vs. 13-seed Wake Forest. North Carolina claims the No. 1 seed, and will face the winner of Pittsburgh and Syracuse on Thursday, while Virginia is the No. 2 seed, and will take on the Clemson-Georgia Tech winner. The Tar Heels and Cavaliers are both in contention for No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Ticket information is available here. Here is the full bracket:2016 acc tournament bracket Every ACC Tournament game will be available on either ESPN or ESPN2, as well as the ACC Network.Favorite: North Carolinaunc logoThe Tar Heels captured the ACC regular season title, beating Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night. Roy Williams’ squad has a talented assemblage of frontcourt talent, led by ACC Player of the Year candidate Brice Johnson, who averages 16.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He is joined by Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks, to make up one of the deepest forward rotations in the country. Marcus Paige leads the way for UNC’s guards. He’s taken a bit of a backseat this season, averaging just 12 points a game after scoring over 17 per game in 2013-14, and over 14 last season. He provides excellent leadership, and is a clutch performer. The Tar Heels haven’t been perfect this season, and have had some close calls in ACC play, but with their depth and talent, they are the definite favorite in this year’s tournament.Sleeper: DukedukeCalling Duke a “sleeper” is probably a tough sell, but this year’s edition of the Blue Devils is definitely not a vintage Mike Krzyzewski team. The team hit a real swoon at mid-season, and fellow out of the Top 25 altogether, but in recent weeks it has rebounded to become a very dangerous outfit. Guard Grayson Allen is the latest in a long line of classic Duke heels, and he backs it up with his play. He averages 21.5 points per game this season. Rangy freshman forward Brandon Ingram is a dynamic player, who is a likely Top 5 pick in this year’s NBA Draft. With the loss of Amile Jefferson for the season, the Blue Devils don’t have much depth, which is the team’s main issue. However, if Allen, Ingram, and the rest of the team gets hot, it can absolutely make a run in the post-season.last_img read more

Last year, property-tax collection came in at about 88 per cent of the overall $9.6-billion target,” Mr. Powell said. The Commissioner General said the drive is for the agency to become more efficient and effective in collecting revenue, enhance the level of voluntary compliance, and improve the quality of taxpayer services in Jamaica. Crews Continue to Clean Up Hydrochloric Acid Spill Near BCAB Border

first_imgTUPPER, B.C. – Crews continue to clean up a hydrochloric acid spill near the B.C./Alberta border. On Thursday, a tanker truck and pup trailer ended up in the ditch with the pup trailer landing upside down. Initial reports suggested the tanker wasn’t leaking, but further investigation discovered over 17,000 litres of hydrochloric acid had leaked. On Saturday, two vacuum trucks continued to remove hydrochloric acid at the vehicle accident site. Environmental consultants built a dam at the mouth of the unnamed creek that was impacted, which flows into Albright Creek. A vacuum truck was stationed there overnight Saturday to remove any product that accumulates at the dam. A plan was created for flushing the product, collecting it and then disposing of it offsite. Flushing began on Monday, March 26th, 2018 and Environmental Emergency Response Officers (EEROs) are currently still on-site overseeing the cleanup. Both upstream and downstream of the mouth of the unnamed creek, water quality samples were taken at Albright Creek. Field screenings showed no pH spike in Albright Creek. An environmental consultant, ultimately hired by the spiller, will be preparing an impact assessment for the waterways that are potentially affected.last_img read more

Five dengue cases reported in Delhi, three in March

first_imgNew Delhi: At least five dengue cases, including three in March, have been detected in Delhi so far this year, even though the vector-borne disease is usually reported between July and November, a municipal report released Monday said. Last year, 2,798 dengue cases and four deaths were recorded by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), which tabulates data on vector-borne diseases in the city.According to the report, a case each was reported in January and February and three were detected in March this year by the SDMC. Dengue cases are usually reported between July and November, but the period may stretch to mid-December. While no fresh cases of malaria have been reported, three cases of chikungunya– two in February and one in March– have been recorded this year. Doctors have advised people to ensure that there is no breeding of mosquito larvae around them and to wear full-sleeved clothes and use mosquito nets. Water coolers should be dried up when not in use as dengue infection-carrying mosquitoes breed there a lot, a doctor said. The civic bodies, who recently organised a workshop on the prevention of vector-borne diseases, said mosquito-breeding was reported from at least 1,387 households in the city this year and 2,293 legal notices were issued. Of the total dengue cases last year, 141 were recorded in December, 1,062 in November, 1,114 in October, 374 in September, 58 in August, 19 in July, eight in June, 10 in May, two in April, one in March, three in February and six in January, the report said. Microsoft informs Outlook users of hack

first_imgSan Francisco: Coming to terms with a hacking and data breach case, Microsoft is reaching out to some users informing them of an Outlook.com hack which exposed data sent over emails to hackers who kept accessing their accounts between January 1 to March 28. Founded in 1996, Outlook.com is a web-based suite of webmail, contacts, tasks, and calendaring services developed and offered by Microsoft. In an email being sent to affected users, Microsoft claims that apart from the content of the emails including attachments, the hackers could have possibly viewed account email addresses, folder names and subject lines of the mails sent and received, The Verge reported on Saturday. Also Read – Swiggy now in 500 Indian cities, targets 100 more this year “Our data indicates that account-related information (but not the content of any e-mails) could have been viewed, but Microsoft has no indication why that information was viewed or how it may have been used,” the report quoted the company as saying in its email. The case came into notice when the software giant discovered that credentials of a support agent were compromised for its web mail service which led to unauthorised access into some accounts. Also Read – New HP Pavilion x360 notebook with in-built Alexa in India “We addressed this scheme, which affected a limited subset of consumer accounts, by disabling the compromised credentials and blocking the perpetrators’ access,” the report quoted a Microsoft spokesperson as saying. Even though the software giant ensures that no login details or other personal information were stolen by the hackers, the company is recommending that affected users reset their passwords. “Please be assured that Microsoft takes data protection very seriously and has engaged its internal security and privacy teams in the investigation and resolution of the issue, as well as additional hardening of systems and processes to prevent such recurrence,” the email adds. As of now, it remains undisclosed exactly how many users were affected by the breach. This security incident comes weeks after a former security researcher pled guilty to hacking into Microsoft and Nintendo servers for a number of weeks in January 2017, allowing European hackers to access pre-release versions of Windows.last_img read more

Come on, it’s the second game of the season!”“Every team can lose at any time and every team will lose again this season. The point is to take the lessons from the loss and not repeat those mistakes. It’s as simple as that.”Harry Maguire, Manchester UnitedSolskjaer praises Harry Maguire after Man United’s 1-0 win Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer singled out Harry Maguire for praise after helping Manchester United keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Leicester City.“Manchester United have unbelievable players in their squad and they can absolutely put this right.”“Sometimes against the underdog you can lose because they want it more. It happens to every team.”“I do wonder if all this negativity is necessary but obviously football is a business, and a little bit of politics.
